Monk is a west coast Canadian artist with her primary studio on spectacular Rathtrevor Beach at Parksville on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Her subject matter comes primarily from the endless ocean views, idyllic beach scenes, beautiful Gulf Island coastlines, spectacular old growth forests and old totem poles.

Monk started painting in watercolours about 25 years ago. She has since studied oil painting extensively and has started to paint in acrylics as well. Her energy, creativity, joy and reverence for all of creation shine through her exquisite use of colour, detail and depth.
